An Animal Park has an opening for an Operations Manager that will lead the park operations’ and is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, safety and profitability. 

Operations Manager

Mission:
Manage Park daily operations to provide superior customer service, maximize revenue, enhance visitor experience, and support the mission of the Crocodile Park and dealing with all outside suppliers.

General attributes:
1.Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the park, including development and delivery of visits' programs, care crocodiles programs, Administrative and maintenance operations and resource development; this includes but not limited:
2.Site Management: 
a.Supervise the daily operation of sales department to achieve budgeted sales;
b.Oversee on-site visitor communication materials, including, but not limited to: maps, visit handouts, signs and staff materials;
c.Monitor the daily staff planning and rotation-staffing plan to maximize sales opportunities and provide excellent customer services;
d.Assist Implementing efficient and value adding tours and services, as well as any other business development project for value improvement;
e.Respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer complaints;
f.Supporting the chief guide to provide efficient guest service and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests;
g.Ensure that all work locations are clean, organized, and neat, using safety as a guide;
h.Attention to operational details to provide a positive visitor experience;
i.Liaise with Guests and maintain effective communication;
3.Animal care Supervision: 
a.Works closely with animal curator to ensure effective daily running of animal care program;
b.Constantly evaluate adherence to animal care standards and the humane treatment and care of all animals;
c.Make recommendations to improve the quality of training needs and materials to ensure compliance with pertinent laws, regulations and protocols;
d.Work with veterinarians as necessary to properly establishing animal care such as handling methods, dietary needs, habitat, and sanitation procedures;
e.Assist the planning and design of new facilities or renovations of existing facilities; reviews blueprints; recommends maintenance work or capital improvements based on general inspection of grounds with appropriate personnel;
f.Takes leadership role in design of dangerous animal incident procedures and drills;
g.Making quick decisions that may be a matter of life-and-death for visitors or staff. May be required to immobilize or destroy an animal in the event of a dangerous animal escape or someone in with a dangerous animal;
4.Compliances and Controls Management: 
a.Take leadership role in design and set up of all procedures, work instructions and guidelines within the different park activities;
b.Assist the design and the setting up of customer service standards;
c.Ensure that all security, safety and sanitation standards are achieved;
d.Oversees control of all inventories, product cost, cash handling and purchasing;
5.HR Management:
a.Responsible for the overall supervision and management of all employees;
b.Promote a culture of high performance & continuous improvement that value & rewards learning & a commitment to quality;
c.Provide effective leadership to ensure strategic hiring, training, motivation and development of operational teams;
d.Supervise training plans, with specific focus on preparing frontline staff to provide professional, high-quality service;
e.Evaluate staff performance to ensure that the work carried out is high quality, technically accurate, completed on time and within budget and adheres to environmental regulations, best practices and compliance with UAE laws;
6.Product Management, Expense Control & Protection of Assets:
a.Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way;
b.Monitor and control cash, and focus on loss prevention practices, to ensure that funds are being handled in an accurate and secure manner that conforms to defined policies and procedures;
c.Maintain inventory of park supplies and equipment (including strollers, wheelchairs, vehicles, computer hardware, etc), to minimize repair and maximize longevity;
d.Manage ticketing and oversee the operation, maintenance and advancement of admissions POS system to ensure that visitor access is being properly monitored and recorded;
e.Curb any excessive expenditure or wastage in all departments;
7.Project Management:
a. Cordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the effective execution of projects;
b.Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;

8.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Traits 
•A bachelor’s degree in Biology/Zoology/ veterinary Science, natural science, hospitality;
•business administration degree (MBA) is a plus;
•Minimum 8 years of large complex resort experience in multiple departments (ideally to include activities) with minimum of three years supervisory experience required;
•Strong written and verbal communication skills;
•Experience in cash control management preferred;
•Fully proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite of products;
•Excellent rescue, and first-aid skills;
•Proficiency in English is essential in this position;
•Must be highly customer oriented and responsive;
•Proven ability to achieve excellent production performance under pressure;
•Able to work irregular hours and weekends;
•Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, with limited travel as required.
•Excellent leadership ability;
•Excellent planning abilities, must be passionate self-motivated & performance driven;
